Watermelon is a developer and publisher that was formed in 2004 to develop and publish Pier Solar and the Great Architects. They were officially established in the United States in 2009 and in Hong Kong in 2015.

HistoryEdit

The development of Pier Solar and the Great Architects began on June 8, 2004 by members of the Eidolon's Inn community. As it shifted from a small project to a full commercial games, most of the members of Eidolon's Inn were no longer participating, but new developers were brought in. The game was originally developed for the Sega CD, but development later shifted to the Sega Genesis. The Genesis version was originally intended to be released in 2008, but the release was pushed back until 2010.

On November 12, 2012, a crowd funding campaign through Kickstarter began for a high definition version of Pier Solar and the Great Architects. This version was released for several platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, Ouya, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and Dreamcast. The Dreamcast version was released on October 26, 2015.

On May 27, 2014, Watermelon revealed that they would be publishing Elysian Shadows.
